James “Jim” Kenneth Morelli Sr., born in 1927 in Charleston, South Carolina, grew up in a city rich with history and charm. Celebrated in the community for his multifaceted contributions as a business leader, military veteran, and dedicated community advocate. Born and raised in Charleston, Jim developed a passion for entrepreneurship early in life. His career with Carrier began at Charleston Oil Company, one of the first Carrier dealers in South Carolina. He began with the company in 1953 and over the course of his twenty-eight years there, he was running the company’s heating and air conditioning division. In 1981 when the Thornhill family decided they were ready to sell off their HVAC division, Jim along with his son Tony purchased it and rebranded as Morelli
Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc, creating one of the oldest family operated HVAC companies in the Charleston area.
