Recently, our co-founder, Jim Morelli, was inducted into the Carrier Dealer Hall of Fame. This recognition is not just about what he accomplished, but about how he lived and the standard he set for everyone around him.

Ask anyone who knew Jim, and they won’t start with business. They’ll talk about the kind of person he was.
He had a way of making people feel comfortable right away. He joked, he laughed, and he made sure the people around him were doing the same. But behind that warmth was something stronger. Before building his legacy in Charleston, Jim served in the Navy during World War II. After returning home, he chased opportunity wherever it led him, even earning a shot at professional baseball. But like many great builders, he chose a different path, one rooted in family, community, and long-term impact.
That decision is what ultimately shaped the company we know today.
Building Comfort in a City That Isn’t Easy
Charleston is not an easy place to do HVAC work. Many of its homes are centuries old, with tight spaces, historic structures, and challenges that most contractors avoid.
Jim leaned into it.
Long before modern systems became standard, he was helping bring comfort into these homes without compromising their character. He understood that the work was not just about equipment. It was about the people living inside those walls.
He built relationships with customers that lasted decades. He knew families by name, understood their homes, and took pride in making sure things were done right. If something wasn’t perfect, he didn’t look for shortcuts. He made it right.

At the recent Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer National Conference in Los Angeles, this honor was accepted by Tony Morelli, Co-founder and President, on behalf of his father.
It was not just a proud moment. It was a reminder.

Carrier described this recognition as honoring those who set the standard through dedication, leadership, and impact. That is exactly who Jim Morelli was.
